Biography

Short and long

Short bio · 50 words

Theo Hollis is a guitarist and songwriter from Leith, Edinburgh. His second album, Low Light, was written at a kitchen table after midnight and recorded live in four days. He tours seated rooms, plays without a setlist and still answers his own booking emails.

Long bio

Theo Hollis grew up above a bike shop in Leith and learned guitar from library books and late-night radio. He started playing in the back rooms of bars on Constitution Street, recording the Leith Sessions EP there over two Sunday afternoons while the bar was closed.

His first album, Small Hours (2023), was made in a rented room in Glasgow over one winter. It is the louder of the two records, with drums on half the songs. Low Light, out 14 November 2026, goes the other way: one guitar, one voice, a room mic and Ruth Ainslie’s cello, recorded live with nothing fixed afterwards.

He has played 64 shows since 2021, almost all of them in seated rooms of under 400 people. The Low Light tour runs from Glasgow to Montréal through November and December 2026.
